Mr. Glatz has over 35 years of public purchasing experience, beginning his career immediately after graduating from the University of Illinois in 1978, and is currently the Purchasing & Contracts Manager for the City of Tamarac since September of 2003. Prior to that date, Mr. Glatz held has held public purchasing positions with the Village of Skokie, Illinois, the County of Lake Illinois, and the State of Illinois.
Mr. Glatz received his CPPO (Certified Public Purchasing Officer) certification in 1993, and is also certified as a Florida Certified Purchasing Manager (FCPM).
Mr. Glatz currently serves as Chair of the Governing Board of NIGP.
Mr. Glatz is a past President of the Southeast Florida Chapter of NIGP, and previously served as an officer and past president of the Illinois Association of Public Procurement Officials (IAPPO).
Mr. Glatz has been conducting training sessions for NIGP since 1995, and is currently certified as a Master Instructor.
Mr. Glatz received the NIGP Professional Manager of the Year Award in August, 2007.
