I am the Director, Content Delivery and Events or NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement. In this role I:
- am is responsible for executing strategy to meet the organization's mission and vision.
- lead the team that supports many of the revenue generating programs for the Institute, who are responsible for executing all conferences, face to face and virtual events
- Develop and manage budgets
- Conduct contract negotiations for all vendor and venue contracts and manage those relationships
- Collaborate on all marketing, promotion, and communications efforts
- Manage volunteers
Prior to joining NIGP, I worked in hotels primarily in the convention services and catering areas. I loved the excitement of planning many different types of events, from weddings to corporate meetings to large conventions.
I joined the NIGP team in 2001 as an event coordinator supporting the association’s annual meeting, and have “climbed the ladder” to my current position. I enjoy working in the non-profit environment and supporting our membership, volunteers, committees and boards. I am truly passionate about event planning. I love to watch an event start at nothing and become something spectacular. It is hard work but I find it to be very rewarding, seeing an event come to fruition.
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Frostburg State University, earned my Certified Meeting Professional designation in 2004 and just earned the Certified in Exhibits Management from IAEE.
