Michele Mahon is currently the Director of Procurement at the Department of Social Services where she has served for over three years. Previously Ms. Mahon was a Procurement Manager at State Procurement Office in both Information Technology and Materials Management Offices. In 2011 she was awarded the Procurement Manger of the Year Award by the South Carolina Governmental Purchasing Organization.
Ms. Mahon has been teaching in government and non-profit environments for over 16 years. She holds an undergraduate degree in Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management and a Master’s Degree in Management Science from Southern Wesleyan University. She holds a CPPB designation from NIGP, is a member of the SC Governmental Purchasing Officials Chapter where she is Co-chair of the Professional Development Committee as well as a member of the Program Committee and has been active since 2005.
She resides in Columbia, South Carolina.
