Kara M. Daniel, NIGP-CPP, CPPB has been in public procurement since 2004. Kara is the Director of Purchasing and Distribution for the School District of Springfield R-12, the largest district in the State of Missouri. Kara is a Past President of the Missouri Association of Public Purchasing (MAPP) and currently serves as the Program Chair (2022-2024). Kara serves the Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP) as a member of the Member Council (2024-2027). Kara previously served the Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP) as an Area 6 Chapter Ambassador (2017-2023).
In 2017 Kara received MAPP’s Buyer of the Year (large entity) award. In 2019 Kara received MAPP’s most prestigious award the Linda D. Windsor Distinguished Service Award. In 2019 Kara earned her Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) certification. Kara is a 2020 NIGP Leaders Edge graduate. In 2020 Kara earned her NIGP Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP) certification. In 2021 Kara received MAPP’s Manager of the Year (large entity) award. In 2022 Kara received the NIGP Young Professional of the Year Award. Kara holds an Associate of Arts degree from Ozarks Technical Community College.
Kara and her husband Matt have been married since 2005. Together they have two children Natalee age 15 and Carder age 9. Kara and her family are very involved in their community. Kara and her family are official stewards of Little Free Library #16449. Kara is a Shrine Lady and an active member of the Elks Lodge #409.
