I began my purchasing career at the Oregon Department of Revenue, where I progressively promoted over an 18 year span of time. I began as a Purchasing Assistant and ended my careed there as the Procurement & Contracts Unit Manager. I decided to expand my horizons and get back to the work I love and joined the Procurement & Contract Specialist ranks at the Oregon Department of Transportation. The book of business is so different from where I came from; it is challenging and a great new adventure.
I am also an NIGP member and active with our local chapter, the Oregon Public Purchasing Association. I have served on the Program Committee, was the Chair of its Membership Committee and now I serve as a Membership Committee member. I have also served as a formal Mentor through OPPA and found that to be a fantastic opportunity and an honor. I think that both the Mentor and the Mentee benefited from our match.
