Been awhile since I last blogged.....wow, just seems life is just too busy these days!
Throughout December, we have all been enjoying various holiday celebrations. For those of us who celebrate Christmas, we rejoice in the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Some of us have celebrate for 8 days and night the holiday of Hannukah, commemorating the re-dedication of the holy Temple in Jerusalem. Some have celebrated Eid Al Adha, for the sacrifice of the Prophet Abraham's son Ismael. Some have celebrated through other faiths and beliefs. And for some, there may be no specific season to celebrate a specific event, but rather a rejoicing in every day of life. Regardless of your faith or your belief, you choose to celebrate in a manner of your choosing. I pray that this year in particular, we don't allow the media, the world or the pessimists in society to dictate how we engage with one another. For although we may all come from different faiths, different beliefs and different backgrounds, the one thing that I believe is common for all of us in the faith and belief in love. Love for our faith, love for our families and love for our friends. So before we react to how others choose to celebrate, what words they choose to share that celebration and whether or not we agree with how they celebrate, let us stop and remember the core of many of our faiths....love.
And we all rush to get everything just right for our holidays, let us remember that the most important things in life are not purchased or planned. The most important things in life include cherishing those we love and showing love, kindness and compassion to others. Let this season be a reminder that perhaps it is time we all focus more on how we can help one other rather than hurt one another. Let us first look at what we can do to make ourselves better people and not worry about how others fall short. That we learn to lift one another up, not find ways to bring one another down.
My prayer for all of you is that this season reminds you of all that is good in life and all the many blessings we enjoy. For those of you who struggle during this season, due to loss or loneliness, pain or struggle, I pray for peace and comfort. As you all continue to celebrate in your own ways, I pray for joy, health and happiness this season and especially in the coming New Year.
Take time this season to help those in need. They are all around us. May you enjoy all your holidays and from my own personal faith, I wish you Merry Christmas, and I pray your chosen holiday celebration is as meaningful and wonderful as mine is to me. Lots of love to you all and I hope to see you in the New Year!
God bless!
