Hi all! I just looked at my bio for the first time in, well, probably years! I don't think I can consider myself a newbie in procurement anymore. I stumbled into the field in September of 2009. I was promoted to Procurement Officer Senior for Mohave County in 2011, making me responsible for all purchases for Public Works, Development Services and Economic Development Departments.
I made an exciting change in October 2016 - moving to the City of Tucson as a Contract Officer, and quickly promoted to Senior Contract Officer and now Principal Contract Officer. I still feel like "newbie" at times because I feel like I am challenged daily.
I'm the Past President of the Grand Canyon Chapter of NIGP (served as Preisident from July 2015 through June 30, 2017).
Last year I was elected to NIGP's Member Council with my term officially starting July 1, 2017! I'm so excited to be part of the team that works to continually improve our Member experience.
This field is exciting because there is always something new to learn, and I never feel like any project I work on can be considered "normal."
Can't wait to see what I learn from all of you!
