Kate is currently a Senior Procurement Specialist with primary focus on performance measures and special projects. Kate's day to day, consists of drafting solicitations with requestors, and advertising solicitations pertaining to special county projects. In addition, to solicitation and project coordination Kate is responsible for compiling, analyzing, and reporting through market/spend analysis for strategic planning and procurements.
Prior to working with Sarasota County Kate was a Commodity Leader and Sr. Buyer for GE Power where she spent time in direct sourcing and manufacturing. Previously she worked with Sarasota County Government Procurement Department in the Systems and Support Group. Her main role was the implementation and management of Procurement's vendor registration and solicitation system (eProcure) while still supporting in the daily processes of PR approvals, exemptions, and change orders.
Kate also previously worked with the New York Mets Baseball Club (Sterling Mets, L.P.) as a Purchasing Agent. While working with the New York Mets she gained experience in purchasing, event/ project management,vendor relations, and spend analysis reporting. Kate also had the chance to work on high profile projects pertaining to the new stadium (Citi Field). Some of the Citi Field projects included purchasing furniture for all suites and offices, composing and soliciting the RFP for a new parking vendor, purchase and negotiation of all small wares, glassware and ownership china, selection of pest control management company, and purchase of field equipment.
Kate was also involved in the implementation of The New York Mets new purchasing and inventory management system, vendor registration database and process, and overall relocation process from Shea Stadium to Citi Field.
