Rick began his career as a Music Director (K-12), in the Lincoln R-2 School district, from there he moved on to Director of Bands (5-12) in the El Dorado Springs school district. During his tenure at El Dorado Springs he pursued his Masters degree in Secondary Administration. Upon completion of his degree from Missouri State University he took a position as High School Principal and District Technology coordinator with the Wellington-Napoleon R-9 School District. His last two years at Wellington-Napoleon he served as Superintendent and worked on completing his Education Specialist degree at the University of Central Missouri. In 2000 Rick had the opportunity to move to the North Kansas City School District as the Director of Purchasing. While there he has used his skills and knowledge of school program needs to operate a efficient and effective department. Rick earned his CPPO designation in October 2016.
Rick successfully passed the NIGP-CPP exam and earned his NIGP-CPP certification in the fall of 2020.
Rick is an active member of MACPP and NIGP.
