Bio

My name is Julie Ann Donahue. I was born in Seattle, Washington but raised in Georgia.
I currently serve as the Purchasing Manager for the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government (ACCUG). I am responsible for procuring all goods, services and construction for 36 very diverse departments. I am responsible for awarding all contracts with a value of $100,000 or less. I have served in this capacity for 21 of 29 years. I previously served as the Budget Manager.

Purchasing staff included 3 Buyers, 1 Senior Buyer and a Secretary. We typically purchase goods and services with a value in excess of $100 mil each year. In addition to routine procurement, I am also responsible for managing a purchasing card program, fuel card program and will soon manage a travel card program. I am also responsible for authorizing all contracts for independent contractors as well as placement with temporary employment agencies. Prior to working for ACCUG, I served in the United States Army.

I hold a Bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia's J. M. Tull School of Accounting. I received my CPPB Certificate in 2005.

I have 3 children and a precious grandson. I enjoy swimming, reading and cooking. The most important part of my day is family time. We have dinner three times per week with my parents and enjoy a game of Monopoly on Saturday evenings.
