Bio

I’m a Contract Negotiator with El Paso Electric Company, the sole electric utility in West Texas and Southern New Mexico. In this role I develop, issue, and administer agreements for the Company in the Supply Chain Management Department. Our most exciting work to date was building a new power plant which entailed not only the construction of the buildings but the acquisition of all related machinery, furniture, equipment, consulting services, and professional services. Not only did I have fun being part of such an exiting project but also found it rewarding to see the results.

Before joining El Paso Electric, I worked for two government entities — the City of El Paso and the El Paso International Airport –- and was lucky enough to work with amazing clients such as the El Paso Fire Department, the El Paso Public Library, the Airport’s maintenance, security, and operations staff, and the Airport’s management staff.

I’m truly passionate about my work and always eager to connect with other buyers. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, I think my favorite stage of a procurement project is working with the client or business unit leader to understand his or her business objectives. As we go through that collaborative process, the ideas start to flow and that’s always the fun part.

I have a CPSM and C.P.M. certification from the Institute for Supply Management and a CPPO and CPPB certification from the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council.

I’m always interested in hearing from former colleagues, managers, or just interesting creative folk, so feel free to contact me if you’d like to connect.
