NIGP’s essay contests provide an outlet for your creative solutions to situations in our professional life that may not always be as far removed from our reality as we might like.  Sharing your thoughts could be worth your while.  Detailed contest guidelines follow. 

Ethics Essay Topic:

"Ethics and Intellectual Property"

Send your entry to Belinda Sites, Director Enterprise Sales & Relationships at bsites@nigp.org by Friday, May 20th. Please include your name, address, phone and fax numbers, e-mail address and label '2016 Ethics Essay Contest' .  

Ethics Essay Prizes:

The winner will be announced at the NIGP Annual Forum and Products Exposition, in National Harbor, Maryland and notified via email. The winning author receives a cash prize of $250.  Questions? Contact Belinda at bsites@nigp.org or phone 800-367-6447 x231. 

Submitting Essay Contest Entries

Your essay should be less than 1,000 words and examine how this dilemma may develop and how such a situation is best negotiated. NIGP will publish the winning essay in future NIGP publications.  Submission of an entry indicates your permission to publish as outlined above.  Evaluation of submittals is based on originality, format, message, content, focus, clarity, and grammar. 

Diversity Essay Topic:

"Within the government contracting space, diversity initiatives are encouraged, but are sometimes perceived as being too difficult and costly to administer. However, small business inclusion initiatives can sometimes achieve the same outcome with minimal or no additional costs or effort. Has your organization focused on small business inclusion in your contracting activity, and if so, has that effort been successful in terms of contractual cost savings and/or adding diversity to your qualified vendor pool? "
