David Rabiner
The Art and Technique of Negotiating
How well do you negotiate? It's something we do every day and don’t even realize we’re doing it. Many public procurement professionals believe they are limited in how much they can negotiate; however: (1) we all negotiate daily more than we think, and (2) it is important to understand the negotiating tools that others use when they deliberate with us. Think of "negotiating" as the process two or more people go through in order to reach an agreement. In this presentation, international speaker David Rabiner covers the most important strategies and tools relating to negotiating and basic influence - how people move others. Learn not only the important principles and rules, but specific techniques you can apply before the end of the day.

Shari Harley
How to Say Anything to Anyone
Speaking up when we are frustrated is hard and as a result, most of us don’t. Instead, either we tell other people (aka gossip) or we say nothing and relationships become tense and explode. You can say anything to anyone and have it be easy. You just need to lay the ground work to do so, and most of us don’t. In Shari’s session learn these key points : how to establish trust in any relationship, laying the foundation to be able to address issues when they arise; how to set expectations with co-workers, direct supervisors and clients, paving the way to successful long term relationships; determining what’s important to your manager, co-workers and clients, making it more likely that you give them what they need; how to tell others what you need so your needs are met; and how to create a regular practice of asking for feedback so you know how you are perceived by others.
